    X Pipe resonators exhaust issue

So i read the post about someone installing an Xpipe in place of the two small resonators. However, I just tried to do the same thing and the muffler shop told me they aren't resonators, that they are secondary catalytic converters and its a 25k fine for cutting them off. I live in texas.. is this true? are they converters or resonators? going to try another shop and see what they say.

    Frustrating.

They are wrong. The cats are in the downpipe. Take it to another shop.

Morons... this has happened to me a few times as well. There is a pic floating in the main thread that shows the exhaust entirely. Print it off for next time.

Waiting at another shop right now. I'll try and find it right now. Thank you!

Just a suggestion, remove the center resonator as well. I did what you did and noticed absolutely nothing. But combining it with the center removed was gold for my ears. Your ears might be different... Lol.

If you don't, you can always do it at a later date.. Very simple and less that an hour job for the center resonater removal at my shop.

    Good luck!

Shop said the same thing to me.

Show them the picture of the whole exhaust system broken up and it should clear things up.

I previously had the two rear resonators deleted on my car. It sounded just ok and the drone was really bad. Not even close to being worth it.
