I’ve had and loved this car for about 5 years since 60k miles. All repairs/maintenance have been done properly and timely with all records to pass on to next owner. Clutch/turbos going strong. Oil changes done religiously.
Reason for selling:
Financially I’ve needed to drive something newer and cheaper to maintain, so this is no longer my daily driver. The car has also been sitting for a few months due to some issues that need to be fixed before regular driving should resume. This car would be great for someone willing to put the time/money into fixing it, unfortunately I can’t.
I recently hunted down a misfire — checked coil packs, replaced spark plugs, and replaced both ICMs (ignition control modules) to correct the misfire. The car also has a coolant leak due to what I believe is a leaky valve-cover or head gasket. (I’m thinking it’s showing up suddenly now because I stopped driving the car for a while and the gaskets were no longer “swollen” or expanding to fill the gap - just a guess). Needs to be jumped to start but no noise from turbos and car still boosts/drives great. To clarify, here’s a summary:
Needs:
- Coolant leak (head gasket? - see above)
- New coolant line under reservoir
- Hood latch getting stuck closed, may need to replace? (this is why the grill is currently off in the photos)
- Passenger rear wheel bearing
- Battery replaced / checked
- Small scrape on side of car
- Body needs some minor touch-up (normal wear and tear for 14 year old car)
Recently replaced:
- Spark plugs
- Coolant reservoir
- Both ignition control modules
- Alternator
- HIDs
