    Making the jump?

Kids are getting too big for the back seat of the '09 S4 Cab... looking at making the jump to an S6.

Anyone here make the jump to the C7-S6? Anything to be aware of? Common things to dig into during PPI? I'm in no real hurry to make the switch. It took me over a year to find the right S4 when I got this one... willing to wait it out for the right S6... just don't know what issues to dig into as the S6 guys don't seem to be as deep under the hood as the B6/7 S4 guys.

    Any pointers appreciated!

For the record, and if anyone is interested what I'm looking to get out of is as follows:
    '09 S4 Cab
56K Miles -- She's more or less a garage queen as I work from home.
    JHM Tune (Pre-cats intact)
    Black on Black Carbon interior
    MMI / Nav + iPod
    TipT Trans (boooooo...)
Fly's LED mod with clear corners
Stock wheels, R8 knock-off wheels and some black on black wheels with winter tires
Very frequent oil changes... because I'm that way.
Hasn't burned an ounce of oil since I've owned it. Check the oil every time I get gas... because I'm that way.
Full maintenance history in the glove box... but I'd have to organize it. ;)

    Car is in suburban Chicago.

The '09 S4 Cabriolet (convertible) was still on the B7 platform as opposed to the hard top that rolled to B8 that model year.

Do it, you'll never look back.

I traded in my B6 S4 with a JHM tune, catless DPs, etc. and it was a great car but it doesn't even come close to the stock performance of the S6. The C7 is a rock solid car, but like other C7s make sure to check out the airshocks. Some do fail, so if you hear a clunk when going over bumps odds are it failed. Other than that just make sure all the normal functions work. I had the memory seat switch fail, but again that was minor and covered under warranty.

I would say prepare for a second set of wheels for winter. The S4 was great in snow and even with all seasons did incredibly well. With the added size of the wheels and increased weight on the S6 sport and all season tires just don't cut it.

Made the jump over the weekend. ‘17 S6 PP with drivers assist and cold weather package... Drove the car off the lot with less than 4,900 miles and proceeded to put another 600 or so on the clock as I drove it from Memphis to Chicagoland.

Oh, and yeah... summer rubber... full tread depth on all four tires so I’ll be looking into winters for the S6 as well.

The deal was pretty solid. Less than my budget so I’m looking at the APR Stage 1 tune as well. Even more justification for winter rubber.

Thanks again for the advice. Looking to get it on the road a little but life seems to be a bit on hold with Corona and all. In due time, I guess.
