Exclamation Local place to install cat pipes on 3.0T S5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I wanted to do this at NGP racing, the nearest APR tuner, so I get my stage II tune as well
But they are booked till December
My other problem is I hit a rock and it damaged/broke my OEM cat pipe
So the car is DAMN loud

Does anyone know a local place that can install the JHM cat pipes?
Place or person, doesn't have to be a shop

    Thanks in advance

    Nope
Weird, I had done several searches on these and this thread never came up.
    They are being delivered tomorrow
I will make sure I contact them and make sure I can return them if they don't work
If not will just return them

So if these suck, what cat pipe can I use with an APR stage II tune?
Or should I just repair the oem cat pipe?
It just needs to be welded, the pipe was a clean break from the flange where it meets the manifold
    Should be an easy fix

If it's an easy weld job, look up Zury Fabrications. Good guy.

That is what I was referring to in the other thread about the AWE downpipe tool. I am pretty sure that JHM made the cat pipes for the V8 and the OEM cats are the same part number for the 3.0T but the fitment with the aftermarket cat pipes is different. It would be an easy fix to have a welder install a O2 bung plug (the members with dirty minds should get their heads out of the gutter) and weld a O2 bung on at a better angle but I would expect a bolt-on part that I don't have to modify. Unfortunately it is not always that way. Just like with My A6 2.7T where the 034 Motorsport 3" downpipes don't clear the cross bar and the rear oxygen sensor placement isn't ideal.

    You guys were right
    Induktion Motorsports did the job
Great staff, and Ed kept filling me in all the time about the status when they were working on the car
    Thanks guys :)

Problem is, now I want a tune:)
Will start with GIAC stage 1 then add DSG tune later
    Then eventually stage 2

Skip stage 1, proceed straight to stage 2.

    No man
Think of stage 1 as foreplay :)
If I go straght to stage 2
First it's expensive doing the whole thing in one go
Then my other problem is what then?
    I'm already at max

This way I get 3 levels of upgrade
    Stage 1
When I get used to that I do the DSG tune, which will give me more top end power due to the lower redline on the dsG of 6500
When most tunes put max power around 7k
    Then I do stage 2

I might do carbon cleaning before stage 2
    My car has 76k miles
But I don't have any of the known carbon deposit issues, yet

    1) What year is your car?
    2) Save up and catch a sale to do it all. Paying labor twice for a tune is sad.
    3) Not sure you will need a carbon clean. Consider an Italian tune up after stage 2 though...

    1) 2013
Labor charge for tune is half an hour, or less than $50
And yes I think an Italian tune up will be required to test my 415hp :)
Well I don't know what the hp will be
Every tune I have looked at has 2 or 3 different hp ratings for the same tune around their website
