    Getting ready to install Vogtland sport springs on my A4, but wanted to know the correct installation orientation of the springs as am seeing confusing statements in google.. Which end of the spring is supposed to be at the top? Tight coils end or Loose coils end?

    Or what is the orientation B5ers prefer for aftermarket spring installation?

    I've never installed these, but I would assume you match your current set up with orientation.

    Well, as you can see below my stock audi springs are linear(can install either way as coils are equally spaced) where as the Vogtland ones are progressive springs and that's where the confusion is... I see in google people saying the dead coils(tight end) should be up where as some others saying it should be the other way. I guess it's application dependent so that's why I was asking what is the orientation people usually install these on B5's...

    I have contacted Vogtland today and got this below reply;

    From:
    "Vogtland North America" <[email protected]>

    Hello,

    The "VA" springs go up front and the "HA" springs go in the rear. They
    should only be able to install one direction. However, for this kit, the
    tighter coils should point upwards.

    Thank you,

    Andrew
    Vogtland North America

    So finally this cleared my confusion, thanks everybody for your help/comments!
