My center speaker rattled like crazy and I finally replaced it. A $40/pair set from Best Buy sounded 10x better than the Bose speaker and is a perfect fit in the enclosure. I don't recall the dimensions, but there were very few speakers that were shallow enough to fit in there, but found one at Best Buy. Had to shift the sound profile further back in the car because it literally overpowered the Bose speakers (and was much clearer than the original). I think I posted my experience on Audiworld.
