    Aftermarket Radio Installation Help

So I've come across a problem with my aftermarket radio installation. I searched the web and the forums and didn't really find an answer pertaining to my problem. I have a symphony II non-Bose radio and bought a Pioneer avh-x4800bs. Now since I don't use or care for the steering wheel controls I bought the basic Metra-1787 harness for the radio. I connected all the wiring and plugged in the harnesses to the radio and my car and started my car and got nothing. It won't turn on and I don't know why. I noticed that the pins on the car harness and the metra are in different spots so thought that was the problem. So my dumb self cut the two wires on my car harness that were out of place and connected them with the matching wire on the pioneer harness and that still didn't work. So now I'm at a complete loss and don't know what the problem is.

Also if you're in the central NJ area, I will be willing to pay you to finish off this install for me. Any help will be much appreciated!! Especially cause I'm music-less now lol

Check the fuse on the back of the head unit?

Also, why would you NOT use the steering wheel controls?

I did and it's good. And I've always had a habit of keeping my hand on the shift knob so I change volume from the head unit it's self. I rarely ever use the steering wheel lol

I emailed enfig car stereo as well and they replied saying "That unit does not have a can reader needed to turn on the radio. You must find switched ignition in the car."

Does that mean they want me to wire the head unit to a fuse in my car that gets 12v power when my car is on. My radio fuse for example?
