So, when driving in slow traffic (typically highway stop and go) does anyone notice that even when applying very light gas from a stop it hesitates for a moment and then seems to aggressively engage 1st gear? I notice this also when waiting to pull out of a driveway for instance. I will lightly press the gas and it will have a slight delay and then lurch forward. Its not a long delay nor is it enough to cause any sort of dangerous hesitation, just a very odd mechanical disconnect feeling. Even passengers have remarked at how jerky the car can be (especially when in manual mode, but also D) while in low gears. I also notice that no matter what drive mode I am in, the auto downshift while coasting to 2nd is very noticeable. It just does not feel smooth like 3-4 or even 2-1 does. Am I the only one or do other RS7 owners notice the transmission's gear changes are very noticeable in the cabin when driving at normal pace? I expect it to be more harsh when at 3/4+ throttle but during normal driving it seems of to me. Then again I do have a way of convincing myself something is wrong when its likely a normal behavior for the car! Dealer was not able to replicate and says its likely due to the transmission learning how I drive, in the City of Chicago, every day.
I know this is a completely different vehicle with a different version of the 8 ZF but I had a 2017 A4 loaner and it was like butter around town.
