How often to change coolant fluid?

Just did my 70,000km scheduled maintenance and the service advisor is stating that the coolant fluid needs to be changed (for $180). How often should the coolant fluid be changed?

Apparently every time you go to the dealer.

Checking the Scheduled Maintenance Intervals it is a check/add if necessary.

Draining and refilling it is easy though, I just did it on my car when I put in the AWE Coldfront kit.

You should refill it with G13 coolant: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...ers/g013a8j1g/

Never. The container of Petrosin G12 ++ antifreeze that I have says "Lifetime Antifreeze" on the front.

In Germany no change ist needed. At the dealership it is just topped off if the level is low.

Thanks for the replies. Any idea why they would recommend to change the coolant fluid now? Is there something I should be looking for?

You know you can have the level of freeze protection tested.

There's no such thing as "lifetime" fluid LOL
Whenever I purchase a used car I replace all fluids.
I replaced the coolant in the S4 when I did the cold front system. I probably won't do it again for several years.
I've also done the rear diff fluid and transmission fluid even though it's claimed those are lifetime fluids...
