Its on oddity; I recommend finding an OEM US/NA firmware box if you can.
The buttons all function on my MFSW with my iPhone 6 connected via blue-tooth. Place/answer/end calls, search the directory, etc. It's not a bad interface for a 2005 car, though don't expect it to be like a 2016 system.
OK so I got the wheel installed and it works to control the rns-e for volume and change songs as well as heated rim. Phone button and R/T dont seem to function correctly while in phone call mode. I press them and they seem to only temporally mute the phone call. When I press them while playing a song they switch mp3 cards or the source. I believe it is coded to a 2001 style. No codes stored anywhere.
At your convenience can you tell me what your steering wheel is coded to?
Edit:
OK I fixed it. My steering wheel module was coded to 00102 (radio and no phone). I recoded to 00105 and now the phone button activates the SDS and it actually all works pretty good. Also had to recode the bluetooth module to "comfort" mode which is now set to 0010877. I tried to recode my rnse to comfort but it wont take the "7" in the 0xxx?xx position. Not sure why, maybe because euro rns-e
