Who here had OEM bluetooth & MFSW? Do the Phone and R/T buttons do anything?

Like the title says, does anyone have OEM bluetooth and multifunction steering wheel? Do the phone and R/T do anything?

I read some places that the phone and R/T buttons ONLY work with center console integrated audi motorola phone.

Others say that it works with the bluetooth module and RNSE to do stuff like mute, answer, return, etc...

I do but only 4 MFSW buttons. Pretty sure you're supposed to be able to place and end calls with those buttons but it has to be coded.

I have an OEM blue-tooth module in my car connected to an RNS-E system. I actually have a European blue-tooth module, so my lady speaks in the King's English . . . and can't understand a word I say with the hands free (its hit or miss). Its on oddity; I recommend finding an OEM US/NA firmware box if you can.

The buttons all function on my MFSW with my iPhone 6 connected via blue-tooth. Place/answer/end calls, search the directory, etc. It's not a bad interface for a 2005 car, though don't expect it to be like a 2016 system.

Ok all good info. Yes I am retrofitting all OEM parts to include the latest 2011 8P1 blue tooth module US spec I just picked up. I thought about euro spec but then figured I would get sick of hearing a brit all day. I am only expecting 2005 quality but just want the oem finish.

Do you have the steering wheel with the lower right button as an arrow, phone, or phone with wifi signals next to it?

So you did the retrofit yourself? Did you put the bt module under the carpet or behind the glove box?

Do you also have cd changer in the trunk?

I'm considering replacing that input with a simple line IN input there so I could have audio input from my phone without the need of the MMI

OK so I got the wheel installed and it works to control the rns-e for volume and change songs as well as heated rim. Phone button and R/T dont seem to function correctly while in phone call mode. I press them and they seem to only temporally mute the phone call. When I press them while playing a song they switch mp3 cards or the source. I believe it is coded to a 2001 style. No codes stored anywhere.

At your convenience can you tell me what your steering wheel is coded to?

    Edit:
OK I fixed it. My steering wheel module was coded to 00102 (radio and no phone). I recoded to 00105 and now the phone button activates the SDS and it actually all works pretty good. Also had to recode the bluetooth module to "comfort" mode which is now set to 0010877. I tried to recode my rnse to comfort but it wont take the "7" in the 0xxx?xx position. Not sure why, maybe because euro rns-e
