Question regarding advanced key/door handle lock+unlock

I just recently purchased a 2010 6MT Premium model and was curious if the door handle lock/unlocking with the advanced key is a standard feature or only came with certain models? (ie. push to start)

I see my door handles all have the 'button' where I'd hold to lock the doors. I did a scan with VCDS and came up with no handle sensor errors so I'm guessing my car just doesn't come with this feature. It's a bit brutal going from my 2014 Jetta SE where all I have to do is get in the car and push a button lol but I'm getting used to it. Is there any definitive way to tell if I have this feature?

Ha, I just brought a thread from the dead and wanting to retrofit the advanced key.

To answer your question, it was just an option and mainly in the prestige model. We all have the button thing on the handle but lack the sensor for the advanced key, the dash portion the would sense the key (where the key fod pushes in) and plus the push start button that's wired into it. Not to mention the key programmed for this all to work.

Good info, thanks for answering my questions! I guess I'll just suck it up but was really hoping for a dead sensor and that I actually had the feature haha.
