    Interest/Thoughts DD to Project B6 S4?

So sad to say but looks like my b6 s4 bit the timing dust this morning. Very rough idle to quick kill and haven't tried starting up again. Car has 125k on the clock, stock timing components, and no other signs of timing issue then the "standard" cold start rattle for ~1 sec.

Other than this the car has been great. List of mods in sig. below and been keeping up on regular maintenance up to this point.

I currently have the JHM intermediate timing kit and all needed timing specific tools as well as a few extra gaskets. Was in middle of collecting parts to do a big engine pull/service before it died this morning.

Before I take the deep dive, anyone have interest in buying a project B6 S4 with timing parts/tools included?

Few more details: Black B6 S4 with multimedia package, brushed AL trim, blue alcantara recaros. I'm 3rd owner and have owned since 50k miles. All wheels/tires will be included with sale. Spotty maintenance records as I do all services myself but can include stack of receipts for all parts purchased. Have original window sticker and all booklets/packets from Audi. Clean title. Paint is okay for age and NE living but does have fair share of small scratchs, rock chips, and a small bubble of rust in 2 places. Driver's seat has small ripple, all other seats are in great condition with no stains. Rest of interior in great shape too. Can furnish pics if interested upon request. Will post formal for sale ad if I decide to go that route.

Overall, it's been a fantastic car and very trouble free to this point. Shoot an offer or give opinion on thoughts of sell/repair. Pretty sour at the moment.

would check fuel pump before declaring it a timing issue and dead motor.

Thanks. I'm definitely not going to rule anything out but been around a few dead/dying fuel pumps and this is something different. By pure luck a roommate (who works for a rally team and knows his stuff) was outside the car when I fired it up this morning and he had same conclusion, definitely seemed like a timing issue. It very well could have kept running rough after initial start-up but I killed it to be safe.

    Update:

Took assessment of all cars and after a good hard look in the mirror decided it best to get a new daily, turn S into full project car, and trade in other current projects. Going with a base '17 Golf Sportwagen in manual. Nothing special but will get the job done and overall happy with car and final price. Trading in Benz to dealer and dumping beater Saab as parts to mechanic friend. Leaves me with solid commuter/daily and all other focus can go to getting Audi back up and running.

Will keep this (or start another) thread for timing rebuild/diagnosis. Becoming common to see DIY builds but figure the more the merrier for others doing research.
