The fun of new ownership. Among the list of issue I need to tackle over the next week or so, this one is baffling (but previous owner mentioned not uncommon to TT):

The fuel gauge swings violantly and makes a heck of a noise. I assume a short or otherwise bad signal from the fuel lever sender unit in the tank?

a) quick fix to shut up (pull fuse or disconnect fuel gauge)?
