2016 A6: Swapping Analog Climate Control for Digital Unit

Has anyone swapped out their Premium Plus analog climate control for a Prestige digital unit? Is it possible to do this by just changing out the control unit or is there more to it than a simple swap? Would it be crazy expensive to order an OEM unit from the dealership?

In July I traded in my 2011 S4 for a S-Line 2016 A6 in Tornado Gray and I love it! One of the things I miss, though, is the digital climate control and am a bit surprised that you have to spring for the Prestige package in order to get it when it comes as a part of the Premium Plus in the S4. I have a Premium plus 2014 A6 I would like to do this with too, anyone have advise on this?

I have a 2014 A6 as well and I also wanted to do it. After ordering the part, unfortunately it did not work as there is an extra connection on the digital climate control compared to the original one. I will try and find pictures for it.

You can see in picture 2 and 4, there are markings for socket "A" "B" and "C". In picture 2 it's the premium plus control and it is missing socket "C" that the digital one does have.
