    Davednconfused's Nogaro/Nogaro B6 S4 Sedan Build

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Background:

Just a few week ago I purchased the car. It *finally* came yesterday from Nevada. I am located in Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. I previously owned an E36 M3, which was a street/track sort of build. It was totaled due to an inattentive driver, and I decided to get something a little different.

    So, on the the car...

It's a Nogaro on Nogaro 6-speed B6 S4. It has currently about 85,500 miles on the clock. The timing chain is not done, but there is no rattle yet. Everyone seems to be afraid of the cars due to the chain, but I'm not really worried about it. I have a ton of DIY experience from my previous cars, especially my M3.

    Mods on the car currently:
    - Fast Intentions cat back with 8" resonators
    - HRE FF01 wheels w/ 255/35/19 Pilot SS
    - 5mm spacers up front
    - Solowerk coilovers
    - RS4 shift knob
    - RS4 pedals
    - B7 center console
    - OEM Carbon Fiber Trim
    - Catless OEM downpipes

    Things to install:
    - 034 street density motor mounts
    - 034 street density transmission mount
    - ECS Tuning snub mount
    - JHM intake manifold spacers
    - JHM tune
    - Valve cover gaskets
    - Valley pan gasket + all other stuff down there
    - OEM NGK spark plugs
    - BBS CH 19x8.5 et 35

    Things to fix:
    - Driver side rear seat sun shade hooks broken
    - RUBBING (too low and tires are too meaty!)
    - VC gaskets

    A few pictures...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really hope raising it up a tiny bit fixes the rubbing issue - and I don't think these coils have dampening adjustment. I want to keep the wheels - but I can't drive a car that rubs over any significant bump. The tires also have a ton of tread left on them, so I'd rather not have to buy new ones.

Additionally, what is up with our gas cap? It has no string and there is no where to put it on the gas door while getting gas? Unless I'm missing something? I also have to fix something (haven't figured out exactly what yet) so that the gas door release actually works.

Awesome! This came from vegas as I recognize the combo and the wheels - Sweet pick up man enjoy her!

Worst case you put those gorgeous HREs for sale which we all know bring a pretty dollar - 255 around is pushing It though...

Thank you, and yes it did! Bought sight unseen and thankfully I am not disappointed one bit. I'm actually struggling to find all the little imperfections that the seller described to me.

As much as I love the HREs, 255 is really a bit much. If I am forced to get different wheels, I'll likely try to pick up a set of BBS CH.

Thanks, loving it so far. Your B6 RS4 build is awesome. B6 looks with RS4 guts, can't beat it.

Wow this thing is dope, everything I'd want in my b6 s4. That rs4 carbon is a nice touch l, someone really put some time and money into that car and took care of it. About the gas cap you can hang it right on the gas door, theres cut outs on the cap. And there is no release for it, just open from outside but it does lock with remote. Enjoy the sweet ride!

Thanks! Didn't know if the carbon was OEM or not. Still developing my Audi knowledge, I'm used to BMWs.

Got my catless OEM downpipes on this weekend, unfortunately forgot to get pictures or anything.

Also, picked these up off the forums...
(Photo credit to seller, took off of the for sale post since I don't have them yet.)

They're 19x8.5 et 35, and I got 235/35/19's for them so my rubbing issues should be solved now.

I love them so far. The reverse rake isn't so bad in person, but I do want to raise the rear a bit.

On another note, I'm pretty convinced I have B7 door cards. I'm baffled as to why else I would have the gas switch.

Last night I installed my new ECS snub mount, and 034 street density motor/trans mounts.

Here's a picture of my worst nightmare:
IMG_3074 by David R, on Flickr

The snub mount job is easily one of the worst I've ever had to do. Thankfully it's worth it. Motor and trans mounts went relatively smoothly. I have a clunk when turning the wheel lock to lock that I have to figure out, but I'm fairly certain that I know what it is.

Anyway, all the slop in the drivetrain is gone and I couldn't be happier.

Next up: valley pan gasket/check valves, and intake manifold spacers.
