    1999 A6 2.8 C6 - coolant loss

    Loosing coolant, but can't see where it is leaking from.
    What are the typical leak spots on the 2.8 30 valve AHA engine?
    01 Allroad Tiptronic, TCU tune, mild stg 3 (350 HP) tune (stock injectors) KraftwerkTurbo TM1. Lower, Wider. Custom tip vent pod with Podi
    02 Allroad 6 spd, Kraftwerk Turbo TM6, 750cc, 3" MAF, piggy, FMIC, CM stg 5 (hate). 30 psi at 3600 rpm. Needs stronger rods (coming).
    05 Golf TDI
    Looking for 2001 A4 1.8T quattro manual with blown motor

    Thermostat housing or water pump can you tell where you have the leak? Pasa side? Or driver side?

    I have NOT found location of leak. Owner spot on ground towards rear of engine, driver side.

    Maybe it could be your water pump, you should put the car in service position and remove the tb covers to gain access to the water pump and see where the coolant is leaking and post a pic

    Pump is definitely on the list.
    On 2.7T (very familiar with those), pump leak runs down front, over and along the upper and lower oil pan. Nothing visible in front of engine. No tell tale 'pink' build up (prolonged leaks leave a colored stain typically), no wetness.

    The 2.8 can leak at the back from the coolant temp sensor, heater hoses or the coolant pipes. Here is a pic of the heater hoses and coolant pipes on the back of the engine/heads when I had the trans out. The leak on this one is at the left, off of the metal crossover pipe and down the combi valve:



    Here is the writeup on replacing the O-rings on the coolant pipes. Part numbers may vary as there were some minor changes from the AHA to the ATQ:
