Is there something for the shift lag?

New to Audi here. I have the 17 S5 (B8.5) and when I use the paddles it seems like there is just a slight bit of lag from the moment I pull the paddle to the actual shift.

Coming from an E92 Bmw 335 where I drove with the paddles all the time I never experienced this. Is there a fix for it?

Does it happen at wide open throttle also?
From my experience with a 2013 s5, while cruising around town, there is a delay when using the paddles to go up in gears, especially at low rpms, but while flooring it through gears, it's pretty responsive. So as far as I know, that's just how it is on these cars. I even have a giac transmission tune, and it still lags when cruising, but is more crisp and immediate at Wide Open Throttle.

Only use sport when driving hard, when just cruising around town have it in comfort and shifts won't lag and be more instant.

My 15 s5 does the same thing, but it seems to be much quicker if you shift with console sifter. I'm almost glad you have it. I thought mine was the only one.

It's the one thing about this car that is starting to drive me crazy. I like to drive with the paddles. I am a stick guy, but they didn't have a manual. I hate the computer telling me when it thinks it should shift. It's like I'm not driving the car, the computer is.

I have a 2014 and did exhaust/intake/pulley and tune and that "delay" when using paddles is obnoxious! I discussed doing the "tranny tune" to dump more money in to it BUT do not think it will help the delay/lag when paddle shifting under WOT. Sometimes the car would actually seem like it was in a dead spot and hesitate to do anything if you hit it hard in-between certain gears maybe around 3rd around 38 mph bad hesitation if you hit it just right. Guys that did work on my car said it is searching which gear to go in to etc. Seems like the lag when it seems like it is choking in between shifts is just the way it is. SO they said drive around in sport mode as it shifts the best under WOT which i find to be true. Only wish........I could feel what it is like to shift under WOT without the car feeling like and sounding like it is choking! You'd think when you use the paddles it would shift more like "normal" without that lag but I think that is just part of our cars that is not so becoming in the automatics.

I just drove it where I was keeping the rpms high and it was shifting the way it should. I guess WOT is it. And 240mpt is all I'm gonna get.

I'm so glad I got the manual transmission. A bit lighter car too because of it.
More arm chairing but apparently the s-tronic shifts slower in the s5 than other s-tronic cars such as the s6. Some YouTube reviewer mentioned this.

I had the same issue on my previous b8A4 so when I got my B8.5 S5 I made sure it was a 6MT.

I have this delay too usually when I go from 1st gear to 2nd gear when I'm flooring it. ><

I've driven stronic on B8 and B8.5 S4, B8.5 S5, RS5, and S7. The latter two feel very different (mainly more responsive) than the 4/5 stronic. Not sure where exactly the differences come from, but they are definitely there.

Wow! not sure I know what you guys are feeling. My '14 S5 has the quickest, most positive shifts I've ever felt in an automatic. Actually I dont feel it, only hear it shift. Always leave in drive, even in sport mode, as there is no way I could replicate the speed of those auto shifts.
