Knocking in gear?

Needing some help or insight into what is causing this "knocking". Long story short, for about two weeks now I've been having to push start my car to get it started, currently trying to find the culprit involved for that issue, but only over the past few days I've noticed a knock when in gear. It's really annoying, I believe it's a valve hitting the valve cover, but what would cause the valve to do this? any suggestions?

don't want to sound like an ass, but :

2 weeks push starting ? is this real ?



btw : A valve cannot hit the valve covers in these engines, even in the event of a super catastrophic valvetrain failure.

can you post a video of the knock itself ?
