Who makes a good Cargo Mat for Q5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just picked up a Q5 TDI and the factory Audi "cargo mat" is driving me nuts. While nice, I hate the hard plastic texture of it. Very slippery and every thing rolls all over the place. Who makes a good RUBBER trunk cargo liner? I have looked at the WeatherTech liners and while nice and fit perfect, they too are of "plastic" construction. Looking to see who has and can recommend a good cargo mat that is more like the rubber construction as the all weather floor mats.

I have looked at the carid site and they have a bunch that look like more of what I am needing, but wanted to get some feedback from any Q5 owners on what they like and have.

    Any recommendations?

I know what you mean. The floor mats are really nice, but the hatch mat is plastic.
A good rubber one would be pretty weighty, though.

I used Maxpider 3d liner in mine. Has a fold along the storage compartment line and not nearly as slippery as OE and WeatherTech.

Strange I like the weather tech in the front . Although they are on the expensive side for a mattt! . I agree that their build quality is unmatched by even the oem mats and the price is well worth it considering the snow and crap it protects the carpet from.

However my hatch mat is max spider and yes the fold along the sides lets it sit perfectly on top of the factory mat and the quality can handle the roughest of the loads,,Just to point out I carry a lot of data center gear in the back hatch often, those old routers are dirty from years of abuse and sharp edged , but not even a scratch on these. Just wash them off ones a week.

I've been happy with my Husky Liners, they've held up really well for a couple of ski seasons now and daily driving with toddlers. I haven't even bothered with the factory carpeted mats.

Thanks! That was the info I was looking for! Going with the MAXpider cargo mat. With all the torque on this TDI, that will keep some of the smaller items from sliding around!

I've never heard of this Maxpider brand until now. I like the tech in them though.

I need good winter mats and a cargo liner asap. Has anyone used the Maxpider mats up front, not just for the cargo area?

I had the stock all-weather mats in my Q5 and got Weather Tech mats for my wife's Q5. I wore a hole in my driver's mat so I picked up a set of the Maxpider 3D mats for the front and cargo area. Of the 3 types, I much prefer the Maxpider mats. They are not slippery or rubbery but are still flexible and seem to be pretty tough.

These Aries look identical to the Maxpider 3d mats. Website does not allow to order online, but I will do some searching to see how they compare to Maxpider mats... Look 100% identical.

Any reason the Maxpider for the Q5 wouldn't work in a SQ5?

    Anything different around the pedals?

Don't think so ... it should work . The chassis is the same . I did buy the sq5 weather techs for my Q5 3.0 and they fit perfectly . Same year though !!

Leaning towards ordering the 3D MAXpider Kagu Rubber Floor Mats for new 2017 Q5 3.0T. On various website they have these mats for a 2016 Q5. Has anyone ordered these for a 2017 Q5 and do they fit like they are suppose to? Thanks

Thanks TITAN. How do you like your Weathertechs? I've also seen some good comments on Husky mats, need to take a look before making a final decision.

Weather tech covers part of the dead pedal cover on driver side.

One note re: Weathertech, I've used them in my last 2 Outbacks. Pulled the carpet mats out immediately and have the Weathertechs in full time. It gets really hot where I live in the summer, and while the mats fit perfectly at first, I've noticed that once they've been exposed to a lot of Summer heat they start to warp and not sit perfectly. I haven't lost much sleep over it in the Subaru, but just ordered the Maxpider mats for the Q (though I'll keep carpet mats in the Q after Winter).

I had the 3D Maxpider in my last car and they just look and feel so cheap.

Weather tech best in class. Definitely worth the Dough you put into it.

Cleaning becomes hassle free and snow on your boots doesn't flood the carpet after it melts. Pretty rugged too.lastly they don't look cheap.
