    S7 to Rs7 build

Hey, so i am doing a transformation from my s7 to an rs7. I have put this forum on because i need help with a couple of things. I know you guys have experience with many things. So far we are up to changing the rear bumper with the diffusor. We have installed the milltek non resonated exhaust for the rs7. Sounds great, but there seems to be a problem with the valves not working. Apparently they are different in s7 to rs7 as I read on a different forum. Would anybody be so kind and suggest a solution? Thank you. Ill be adding more photos. Also everything is on instagram srs7.prg [IMG]

Having, unsorted for now, issues with the milltek valves too on my S6 C7. I know not the same car, but maybe simular issues?
In my case, after install, the left valve was closed during startup and rev'ing. The right one was open. Not sure what the valves are doing during driving.
Not sure if both valves not working in your case, or same as mine?

Contacted Milltek a week ago and they suggested to swap the OEM valve actuator from sides and check if now left goes open and right close for example.
Recently there was a code posted to disable the valve system but according to others it and myself that was not a correct code:
    1). Engine module
    Byte 9
Bit 2 - exhaust flaps installed (uncheck that)

Should be able to keep the flaps open permanently thrue VCDS.

Apperently you can monitor the vavles aswell, but didn't found yet how...

Anyway, any more info what your issues are might help. Like you, love to find a solution.

Well the problem in my case is that the s7 has two valves in standard but only one in the back muffler. The other one is before the muffler guess it regulated the pressure meanwhile the rs7 has two valves in the mufflers. The question is whether it is doable. It is a software thing but i do not want to run any coding due to warranty. I was thinking mtm box for valve control. http://www.mtm-online.de/en/Audi/S7-...T=m-mtmfbagae2
    Hopefully it will work

And its bolt on? Not to do with the system but just with the controller?

you might have to lengthen the driver side wiring for the valve due to the new location but this should work.

How do you guys know if your exhaust valves are stuck? For example I have the AWE exhaust and I've noticed on startup it sounds kind of weird. Loud but sort of stifled. When I rev it first think in the morning, it sounds like it's stifled sort of buzzing sound. Once warmed up it sounds fine.

The AWE doesn't have exhaust valves.

If you mean the actual exhaust valves (on the engine head) that's something totally different and not related to this thread.

Ok. I thought there were valves in there. So for my education, what happens in the morning when you first crank it for the exhaust to sound so loud. Also what happens when you put it in sport mode causing the exhaust to sound louder, burble, crack etc. I don't know the interworkings of the AWE exhaust but something is happening differently on first crank up and in sport mode.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted, and it does not have valves, absolutely nothing. It's a normal start up for you from cold.

With the OEM exhaust - and some aftermarket exhausts (Milltek Valvesonic for example) there are rear valves on the exhaust.

Depending on model (non-facelift v facelift) there are either valves on both rear left and right exhaust tailpipes, or a single exhaust (rear left as you look at back of car) on the intake pipe to the back box.

The RS models have exhaust flaps on both sides, regardless of MY.

On valved cars, l believe I'm correct in saying that the valves are initially closed on start up - but don't quote me....

Sports mode (pull down on your gear stick) only changes (as far as I'm aware....) the behaviour of the gear box - holds gears and changes at a higher rev limit.

Going into your MMI, and changing the drive select setting --> Comfort - Auto - Dynamic - Individual --> changes all sorts of parameters, including exhaust (if you still have valves) suspension setting (if you have air) and engine ECU mapping (lots more burps and farts on gear change - but only on C7.5 models). Dynamic roughly equates to "Sportier Performance"

Yes tgis aplies to rs models. Whilst s models when you fit double valved exhausts do not work.
