Anyone in the Portland area with a B8/8.5 S4 with a AWE TOURING exhaust with upgraded DP's? They have a resonated or non-resonated option, and I'm trying to decide which route I should go. Countless hours of Youtube vids does not help.

If anyone is going to the Audi beer night, would love to hear your set up! Or we can do our super secret awesome B8/8.5 S4 meet ups, cool kids only.

Hope the baby doesn't mind the drone...

If he goes that route best bet is to delete the resonators from the downpipe instead of buying one from AWE IMO.

    S-Tronic or Manual?

Touring and resonated downpipes sounds nice and civil, "wife approved".
Non-resonated down-pipes do get some drone, more so on S-Tronic cars.
Best sound (in our opinion) is a resonated down-pipe with the "Track" exhaust. It's not loud but you won't be able to sneak in and out of the neighborhood, either. Wife approval depends on the wife.

No one has mentioned a significant change in sound through the break-in period.

DSG Trans, on Youtube the non-res had some rasp which I'm not a big fan of.

Do the res-downpipe make the exhaust quieter or make it more refined? I don't mind the stock DP's drone when cruising, wasn't much of an issue to me. But I was curious on power gains + a more refined tone on the exhaust. I like the "UEL" pulse aspect of the exhaust and wanted to exaggerate that sound.

I just want to hear it in person!!!

Touring and non-res DP's sounds very good, but aggressive. Some wife's may not like it.
Most go with Touring and res DP's to be safe it seems.
I haven't heard Track with non-res DP's--would probably be sinister.

Drone isnt too bad in my opinion or i just got use to it. Although with Dsg it does get annyoing in sport mode for a long period of time.

well I did find a local guy with Res-down pipe + Touring set up and it sounded more refined and less raspy than mine with the stock front pipe.
Now if I can hear a non-res front pipe + touring, my life will be complete lol.

@dubrellA4 , do you ever come down to Portland? Wish I can hear your set up.
