Radiator Fan Still Running after Engine Off

    Hi,

I have my A4 B9 1.4 TSI for about 2 mths now. This morning, when I switched off the engine after I parked, the radiator fan was still running, and very loud. It went on even if I restarted the engine and off again. It stopped shortly after I opened the bonnet. This is the first time I experienced this. Is this normal?

Radiator Fan Still Running after Engine Off

The fan normally stays running for a few seconds or minutes after running the car. This is normal. It's the auxiliary fan cooling the turbo.

That's totally normal. How come you have a 1.4T engine?

    Completely normal.
Engineers have designed radiator fans to run, after the car has been shutdown, for over 20 years. There is nothing to worry about.
An optimist will tell you the glass is half-full. A pessimist will tell you the glass is half-empty. An engineer will tell you the glass is twice the size it needs to be.

Yep, the 1.4T starts at 121k USD, the optional 2.0T starts at 170k USD.

    Gotta love Singapore car prices...
