Are there any cheaper off the shelf options out there that are not terrible? I want the all blacked out look, no angel eyes or crazy r8 inspired leds.

Personally I'd steer clear of DEPO headlights. I had some for my E30 that were complete trash. Projectors were all pitted inside and the headlight adjusters were useless. No amount of turning would get them to move.

It might be different for these cars, but I doubt it.

I've seen threads of people putting better projectors in their stock housings. Why not just open them up, upgrade the projectors and while you're in there, paint them black.

Depo ecodes look the best. The only issue with them is the hole in the back of the headlight that holds the metal clip for the headlight cover distorts and needs to be reinforced.
