    Production date by VIN?

    Hey

    Is it possible to find the production date of my 06 A4 Avant via the VIN? I do not have the car in my possession yet but have the VIN and need to production date in order to find a sharkfin antenna replacement.

    Thanks for your response on this, appreciate it. However, I also need the month it was produced as well. I assume that would be based on the 6 digit sequential number at the end. Any way of figuring out based on that number what month it was produced?

    Isn't the production date on the driver's door jamb? I know I have seen it somewhere on my car. Just not near the car right now to verify.

    I didn't want to bug the seller but gave in and contacted him today and he looked to find out it was born on 01/14/06. I am good to go now, thanks for the responses though. I can now buy my very expensive antenna just for the plastic cover.
