Another question about tuning...

Hello,

I am a new owner of a 2013 S4 stronic and looking to tune. I am between GIAC and APR. There is a lot about both and the transmission tune as well. My question is do the tunes increase the red line(I think they do) and if you leave in manual mode you can shift at redline so does it even matter if you do/do not have the transmission tune?
I also saw the with EPL you can tune at home and there is less concern for a td1 code, but are there still issues with td1 codes after reflashing to stock with GIAC and APR? Much of what I was reading was from 2013-2014 and thought some of these issues might have been resolved. Thanks for any comments and sorry for newb questions but this is my first foray in to the audi world.

I don't know about others but I took my car to the dealer to do the recall flash after I flashed my car to stock. I got my car back two days later and no TD1 at all.
