Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone have experience with this hood on their RS4? I can't find and photos of it on a Daytona Gray.

    Thanks!

Id like some feedback on it as well.

Mainly looking to help dissipate some heat in the engine bay. Probably would run Aerocatch hood pins as I don't feel comfortable without those on a CF hood.

I believe that is a Vorsteiner. However, I am not sure what the differences are.

I bought an Aerofunction hood, i wasn't too thrilled with the quality and sold it. When cutting open it came apart and just wasnt good quality. The vents were rounded off and not sharp. Also was wavy. I personally wouldnt recommend it.

True - I didn't even look at the link as I thought Vorsteiner was the only option. Anyone know the weight difference?

I can't find Vorsteiner for sale anywhere. Or any other vented hoods for that matter.

Buy a Vorsteiner if you can find a used one. Put pins on it regardless.

Ugghhh it pains me so much to look at this photo. It's perfect.

I really wish vorsteiner would do another production run of these hoods. A few of us would easily fork over the money.

I agree but 5k for a hood is touch excessive IMO

That is a Vorsteiner. Good Quality. The other one posted in a link for sale by DSGray is actually my old hood that i sold. I showed him the flaws before he bought it. My intention was to open the sides up like the Vorsteiner but i couldn't with the way the (vents) were rounded. We cut open the middle and when it popped apart i decided to part ways. A real good body shop im sure could do the trick but i didnt feel like spending anymore on it.

The Vorsteiner came with the vents cut already and to my knowledge were fantastic quality. If i do come across a used i may buy it.

So it sounds like the consensus with the AF-1 hood is low quality?

No one has had a good experience with them? And only 1 or 2 people have had experience at all?

I don't see why can we just have custom vents built from our original hood?

i wouldnt even know where to start but if that is possible and you dont mind cutting your hood i think that would be best. On my S4 i was mainly looking for weight savings. RS4 hood is aluminum and much lighter. The weight savings for switching to a CF hood are almost negligible. If you really want vents cutting them on OEM hood IMO would probably be best as hood would fit well and its already light
