Hey guys, back two years later!
This time a little happier!
Now rocking a 2000 Audi A4 1.8TQM ATW with a swapped head at some point. Sitting at 206k but a very healthy engine!
Was a rocky start for sure, paid 700 cash, with no power steering, went through two pumps and have since replaced the rack, both lines attached, and am awaiting a brand new pump in the mail to replace the whiny b*tch in there now!
I'm 2.4k into her at this point, but I'm so close to having a completely 100% car! Here's what's happened in the two weeks I've owned her
Done:
Front drilled slotted rotors with ceramic pads
Brand new rack(shop installed, regret!)
New ps pressure line
New ps return line
New ps fluid
New outer tie rods for the new rack
3 of 8 control arms installed from kit
Digital boost gauge
Manual boost controller
New stereo kit with kenwood head unit (symphony)
New kenwood door speakers
New Pyle rear speakers
Kenwood 600w amp with two shot 8's lol
***Programmed key fob with one key!!(found what wires to jump to make door lock!) ***
** Found antenna wire for key fob and connected more wire to extend range**
New front tires
Drivers side door latch mechanism
To do list:
Brand new Power steering power when she arrives
New timing belt with tensioner when she arrives (belt shows shadow of teeth now)
Installing pass front door latch mechanism(her handle stays up)
Both rear door latch mechanisms bc there both stuck on child safety
Pass rear window needs to be fixed, doesn't go down haven't looked
Maf(only code cel throws!)
Would like to throw a stage one on her but I might wait a while, she's boosting 11-12 with the MBC, I had her set at 16 and she would stay at 16 in 3 4 5 would only spike in 1 and 2 and settle around 12 or so but this soon air my shitly old plugs. Got new plugs and the gap was all over .45 .42 .45 .41 all gapped to .30 and set MBC to 12 she's not nearly as snappy but she's happy though.
I plan to finish the control arms and get a 4 wheel alignment in hopes to get rid of the slight shake(not at steering wheel more at tires) and combat the rear inner tire wear. The shake was really bad before I changed the three control arms but ran out of time so I'll be finishing them by this weekend!
The car has zero rust, rockers are strong, just some chipped paint that's covered at top of front wheel well on the fenders.
I did the antenna extention mod and got a huge improvement! Had to do this because I had to be a good away from my driver's door for it to work, it's now around 20 feet😎👌
I got a new switch blade housing and swapped my stuff over to find was different battery setup but I made it work! When it came to programming I was screwed, as I only have one key, but I did finally figure out what two wires need jumping to make the car thinks it's being locked so you can do the programming 😎 can make a diy if anyone needs!
I'll get some pics uploaded tomorrow morningish once I get Photoshop going again, but it's good to be back into an Audi, those subis and there ROT were getting old!
