H&R Springs Installed On My A7

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Picked up my A7 from 034 Motorsports today after they installed my H&R springs. I could not have been more impressed with their shop. Really knowledgeable team and great development shop.

Initially the car dropped more than I expected (or would have liked) but the more I look at it, the more happy I am with the look.

Looks great. I wish I could lower mine a bit but Chicago winter is a dickhead.

Thanks for posting. I have H&R springs ready to install but have been trying to decide if I want to have it go lower after putting Avant Garde M510s on. Still not sure the wider wheel will work without rubbing or bottoming out too much.

P.S. Adorable picture of your daughter helping out! Mine's 19, so enjoy it before it zips by!

Did you have factory sport suspension? Drop looks significant. I always assumed the H&R springs would provide a similar drop as the factory sport.

Factory sport is only 15mm as I recall. Most springs are 1-1.5".

My understanding is that the factory sport drop is ~ .75" and the H&Rs are about 1.5". I think 1" would be prefect but I am happy with what I have. Not worth changing again.

Parts were cheap a little over $200 but install was $699 with alignment. I thought the install seemed high but I guess it is a more involved task than most spring swaps.

I got a lot is install rates at $750-$1000 so 034 made a lot of sense since they are so familiar with audis and they put in some new bushings for free

I was quoted 550-600 by a couple of shops in NE Atlanta. I am going to enlist my buddy's help, along with his newly installed two-post lift. :)

Nice! I wish I had time and friends.

I should have said as well that I am in the San Francisco Bay Area which means everything cost 30% more than the rest of the country.

Just a suggestion... Consider putting a set of spacers to bring out the tires a bit. That will get rid of the slightly tucked under look that makes it look dropped, and likely give you the look you're after. I have spacers on my stock sport suspension..

I totally agree. The drop also increase the camber which makes the front wheels look even more tucked. Any idea what I can fit without rubbing?

I have stock wheels with the drop. I'm not going to change the wheels I like the OEM.

I'm not as low as yours, but I think 15mm spacers all around would do the trick.

+1 for this - I had same OEM setup 265/35/20 and was running Eibach springs on sport suspension and had no rubbing at all

Looks good! I think I'll be putting some BC racing coilovers on my A6 here in the spring. I am still considering just going with H&R springs too but am afraid of how the stock sport suspension shocks will handle a drop of .75" i don't want it to be bouncy which is why I will prob just go with the coilovers. How is the ride with stock shocks and H&R springs?

Ride is good, certainly nothing someone would think was rough. I would say only 15% stiffer. IMO if ride of your only concern I don't think there is a need for coilovers

So the ride isn't bouncey at all?

Ride is pretty subjective so it is hard to say not bumpy at all. If you're used to the stock A7 which I think has a nice ride, it is only slightly stiffer, not much different IMO

Ok thanks, I have an A6 with sport suspension so I'm not sure it will change much with lowering it about and inch

Looks really good. I'd like to ride in 1 w/ these springs and 1 w/ coilers. I'm really wanting to drop mine, but really not wanting to give up much on the ride comfort side..
