My front rotors are toast and have been thinking of upgrading to full ceramics up front. Anyone have any good sources for the necessary parts? Thanks for the help!

I don't know if ceramics are an upgrade. They don't make as much dust, but that would be the only upside.

It does reduce unspring mass/weight from the front end. If it's like the swap I did on my RS4, it did improve the stopping ability.

If this is for a RS5, look up JamesRS5. He did an outrageous ceramic update to his RS5 ALL the way around, not just the front! Amazing. If on an S5, not as much help.

Brembo 380mm GT for the win! Huge weight reduction.

They do make less dust, hardly any dust to be honest but that's the least significant aspect of a ceramic upgrade. Braking is most definitely improved and this improvement is repeatable no matter how much abuse you give them, they simply do not fade.
I doubt you will match the weight saving with any other kit out there, you almost lose 50% of the unsprung weight from the braking system.

This is Ales (Littledevilss) eBay store who I purchased through, he's very quick, helpful and great to deal with. His eBay store looks a little empty right now but send him a message, he may be able to source some for you: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/littledevilss

Just make sure you're sitting down when you look at the price of this conversion, it's not cheap but I think it was worth it.

Understatement of the day right here. hahah. James, why did you opt for ceramics as opposed to the BBK Mops suggested earlier?

Let's get this straight here. Half of you in this thread are talking about ceramic brake pads. The OP is referring to rotors and a ceramic brake upgrade not pads. So the other half referencing the bbk is correct. Go with a bbk and save tons vs the ceramic upgrade that only some rs5s came with. The cost is insane.

Ceramics definitely have the cool factor, but a good BBK will also reduce unsprung weight and significantly improve braking. Guess it depends what you are trying to achieve. Personally I hope you do the Ceramics, because I think it would be cool and I'm too cheap to do it myself.

Thanks, everyone. Appreciate the info and suggestions on alternatives. I upgraded my RS4 a few years back and know how crazy pricing is :) I'll reach out to Ales and see what options are currently available.

You cannot match ceramics for weight reduction against a cast iron rotor, the two are in different leagues. I wanted to reduce unsprung mass to try and improve turn in and get the car feeling a bit lighter on its feet. Lighter brakes and lighter wheels have definitely improved on this.

I'm not dismissing the Brembo 380mm setup, I'm sure it works really well, it just wasn't what I was looking for.

If you are still looking I have a full set of front and rear Stoptech ceramic front and rear pads and rotors. Just got them 2 weeks ago and decided to go another direction. Brand new in the box and I will let them go at a rediculous low price if you want them.
