    weird battery voltage

So my problem for today is that my battery and alternator always worked great on my car, ~12 volts without the car on and ~14 with the car on. I went to school tonight and it was normal, but when i was leaving i started my car and the car was at ~12 volts while on and the battery light was on. I restarted a couple times and nothing changed. About 2 minutes later while at a stop light, the car felt like something kicked in, like the AC compressor feels like when that kicks in. The voltage then goes back up to normal and the car is perfectly fine, so i thought the car fixed itself. When i start it later a couple times, both times it did the same thing; running at ~12 volts. These times though, it never went back to normal.
I don't know if its just a bad connection between the alternator and battery or what. I'm going to put it on that charger tomorrow and see if that stops it from happening again. Any input on what you guys think it might be would be great
    thanks!

Your alternator brushes are going bad, you can get new brushes and fix it for the cheap there's diy out there or you can just buy a new alternator, I would recommend parts geek they got them for cheap with no core charge

5th post has all the info you need

    Edit
Get a memory saver when you do the alternator so you don't need a throttle body alignment
