Rear License Plate Bracket Alternative

Has anyone used a BMW license plate bracket on their A6? Maybe this one in particular, to serve as a lower profile alternative to the big and thick Audi OEM bracket that extends beyond the edge of the license plate.

Id be surprised if the BMW bracket lines up with the mounting holes on the Audi......

Are they not just standard euro plate bolts, the same distance apart? So in theory it would work.

In a similar vein my front bracket holes for my plate did not line up with the plate bracket. Had to drill holes in the plate to make it fit. I wonder if I can get both replaced?

I broke the captured nut right out of mine yesterday. Very disappointed with the quality of this part for such an expensive car. I'm not about to spend over $100 for a new one.

I used on of the plastic universal fit pieces from pep boys and it worked out very well.

It is smaller than the stock piece and fits pretty well. I screwed it in and also put new adhesive just to be safe.

I used the Cruiser Accessories 79150 Mounting Plate. The screws were too long so I installed them with the bracket off the car and cut the ends off at the length I wanted.
