    SQ5 Front Brakes and rotors

So after reading what seems like every post on the q5 brakes and other 2 part floating rotor and pad setups, I want to do some type of OEM + BBK and it looks like the sq5 has the same or close to the same as the q5 (3.0T) calipers just with a little taller mounting area so it can run the 380mmx36 disc rotor. I have searched but has anyone done this yet on the b8 platform? The calipers are cheaper believe it or not then the q5 calipers.

Also just found out they have a semi floating rotor with an aluminum rotor hat https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2015...a3bdb1b660.jpg

Should be a straight swap, I'd imagine. Both platforms use the same knuckle, so it should bolt right up. Only weary thing may be the offset on the rotor hat.

Weird that the red calipers are almost $100 a piece cheaper than the black. I wonder how these rotors compare in weight to our stock ones?

IIRC the SQ5 is a 2 piston floating caliper

Anybody been able to find an application of this on a B8 or B8.5 S4?

You are correct, this is a floating caliper setup as seen on some C7 A6's.

And apparently they will fit under 18" standard S4 alloys with 15mm spacers, so I have read, but not confirmed for myself.

Looks like a good setup, even if the caliper is sliding still. I'm very tempted, it's between trying these monsters and the Q5 4pot calipers with standard disks.

Running 380mm rotors on 18" wheels sure is tempting. $1,510 for this BBK with semi-flotting rotors doesn't sound bad at all.

What would be better: 380mm rotor thermal capacity or 4 piston fixed caliper pad control?

I think the biggest issue that I can see us running into right now at least there is no "good" rotors to use besides the OEM ones.
