I have a 2003 B6 A4 with the Bose speakers, and I think the front driver side speaker is blown. It produces a rattling sound that seems to go with the beats of the music I'm playing. It also rattles hard when the car is idling from the engine vibrations.
I'm looking to replace the speaker just to get rid of the rattling. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with working on car audio. Any suggestions on how I can tell if an aftermarket speaker is a direct plug and play or if I would need an adapter of some sort? Or would I be better of buying the same exact speaker from a part out? If buying from a part out, am I limited to a B6 or can speakers from later years also work?
I've done some research but I'm not really sure of what terms to search for, so I'm not getting the information I was looking for. The best info I've found are some reports saying that the mounting holes might be different, and that I might need to fabricate some type of mounting bracket. I found some DIY info on this so if this is the case I can probably take care of it. However I couldn't find anything regarding the audio and electrical connections for the speakers.
Thanks
