    Filter housing neck came off?

    Hey everyone. Changing the oil on my wife's q5 for the first time since we bought it and I took the filter off to see it looked different. On closer inspection it looks like the neck is stuck on the old one in the engine maybe? What is happening here? And lame no dip stick btw. Thanks for any help!

    use needle nose and unscrew the old one

    thats like a one way check valve. when you pull the filter it should keep the oil in the filter (well kind of )

    Figured it out. So if this happens to anyone, snug it up pretty tight and try to back it off. Progressively due this and it will eventually catch and come off with i
