Repost of original thread in B7 section as my B7 is Australian, 1.8T model and is supposed to have same 1.8T engine as B6 (From what I've been told 1.8T never made it to US)
Greetings!
I have encountered a really scary-sounding noise from somewhere in the engine bay. It happens when accelerating slowly or reversing. VCDS comes up with no faults and I get no signs of anything going wrong (except for the sound) while driving the car. The car is 1.8T B7 with Multitronic CVT transmission. Do you have any thoughts? What could it be? Anyone faced similar issue?
