    where is this oily substance coming from?

    just got it back from service, not sure if they spilled something or there is a leak. this is near the front passenger side wheel.

    Follow a leak like you would follow a short. That's the only way to tell. It's most likely spillage from an oil change. The filter and fill cap are on the passenger side. Even wipe the oil and check color and smell just to confirm

    ^^ thanks! it was golden and smells like oil. the oil filter is on that side. I'll clean it up and keep an eye on it.

    What you expected your $40k car to be treated with care by Audi..... Hahahahha. Ya I'm a bit bitter after what they did to mine.

    That's why I do my own oil/filter changes. The techs rush right through it and make a mess. The key is to drain the pan, pull the oil cap and dip stick and let it sit to drain. Then I break the oil filter housing loose and listen for the oil to begin flowing out of it. I only unscrew it to the point I can hear the oil flowing out. I then let it sit for another 5-10 minutes draining. Then when I pull the filter canister off no drips of oil or spillage at all. I do oil/filter every 5K miles.

    2 words .. fluid extractor. I literally made my money back on it by offering oil changes like windshield replacements.
