    LCD MFD replacement

    @001 C5 A6 avant, has the failed LCD MFD display. I'm going to send it out to module masters for repair.

    I know it is easy to remove; however, can the car be driven without the gauge cluster?
    120 miles/day, to and from work, Monday through Friday...600 miles a week, ~30K miles a year.

    Not if the car has an Immobilizer, which I'm pretty sure they all had by 2001.
    foley803 : What does an electrical surge sound like? Barking dogs? Watermelons?

    Depends on build date. Mine is a model year 2001 with an 04/00 build date; no immobilizer.
