I figured since I am just over 90k it may be a good time to replace it before I am stranded on the road and purchased the 180amp alternator to match the new OE spec 930CCA battery. I took a few comparison pictures before and during install (back side of alternators side by side) for reference.

No issues after about 1,500 miles and I figured since I have every factory option for an '05 A4 that specs for the larger S4 battery per my VIN, an extra 30 amps may be beneficial. Duramax diesels and 7.3 Powerstrokes have locations from the factory for a second alternator depending on purpose. Don't think I'll need quite that much help.

I would only installed a oem audi battery as they last longer and they are deep cycle batteries. The rest i all garbage unless you buy a red top optima battery which is also a deep cycle battery!!
