The CW adjust the map/maf signals. The higher the settings the more it adjusts.

I keep mine on 3-1 as any higher I throw DTCs at WOT.

Yeah the higher the setting the more it modifies the map signal (which can make the ecu try for a bit more timing too). If you can log your car to see that it is keeping your bypass closed you'll know the setting is working out.

I see you have an afco. I have one on another car. You have any impressions on how it impacted iats and any photos?

I think it manipulates the ecu more aggressively the higher you go needing more octane.

I bought the car with it on so I don't have anything to compare it to. I will be tracking the car in the spring to see how everything holds up. Right now its boost weather in Michigan so anything feels good. I need to log the car so I can understand how the chipwerk box is affecting everything. I can't tell much difference between settings and my P cars gauge apparently doesn't read actual boost so going from 3-1 and showing 15psi max boost then switching to 4-1 and showing 12psi max boost is just confusing if going higher means more boost.

Yeah, you have some unique parts on your car. It'd be neat to see how it logs out. There are some monster triple pass cores out there too but not sure if the S4 has room. I'd be interested to see how they routed yours.

With the CW, as long as it keeps your bypass closed you may not see much difference from 3-1 to 5-1 but I dont have a lot of experience stacking it like you do. Maybe he will chime in but you could also PM "mrmomo313" because if memory serves he was stacking the CW like you and he is also from MI (i grew up there too btw) so he may have some good advice for you.

Thanks Mike, yea this platform is pretty new to me so I need to keep reading to understand it all, the B5 S4's were all about the tune for big power but this car you can just run a generic tune and stack other mods and the car seems to adapt well. I want it to be faster is all haha, its quick but after owning high hp B5's it just feels slow in comparison. I will touch base with mrmomo313 and see if we can meet up at some point.

On a basic level, the chipwerke tricks the ecu and convinces it that the car is making lower boost than it actually is. This makes the car boost more. So every setting you go up, (from 1-1, to 2-1, to 3-1,etc) you are "tricking" the ecu to believe the deficit of boost is even greater, thus making every level up more aggressive in producing more boost. Your P3 gauge is reading the false (lower) boost value that the ecu "believes". To see the real value, you would need a boost tap.
