    Rebuilt BPY Long Block $1k

As title states, I have access to a broken in BPY long block from a 6-speed GTI. It was rebuilt 10,000km ago due to a timing belt failure, and has been broken in gently before being pulled from a running wreck.

It had the entire top end replaced, new water pump, timing belt (obviously), and bearings done in the bottom end (from what I'm told). Like I said, it ran great when pulled.

I'm looking for $1000USD (which is a steal) for the bottom end and head (no accessories), plus shipping and fees. Can include HPFP and intake manifold for extra, if needed. Likely easier to pick up in the Toronto area though.

Will this even fit the longitudinal cars?

It sure will. Swap your accessories and it's good to go. BPG, BWT, BPY, BUL, etc are all the same block.

You will also need to swap the oil pickup and oil pan. The turbo is not compatible between longitudinal and transverse cars unless you swap compressor housings.

100% correct and all easy swap overs when your engine is pulled.

    Thanks Aluthman.

I just did this swap but i put an audi engine into a vw gli. As mentioned, all accesories are different( mostly brackets), oil pan and pick up tube, turbo is different, intake looks to be the same but i still used the vw one. I have all accessories and mounts brackets if some one needs any for this engine, including oil pan and tube
