    Chipped brand new brake pads

I just received my Akebono front pads, got them off amazon. All the pads but one are good. That single pad is chipped on the edge. Us this still good to install? My brakes are in need of a change.

I wouldn't worry about that. It's such a small area that will barely make contact- that is until it wears out evenly .

I would say as long as they aren't cracked then it should be fine...but I'm no expert...

It's fine, seriously. On motorcycles, guys often use a file to add an angle to the front edge of the pad to make it easier to reinstall calipers, and that takes off waaaay more surface area than this.
