So my finally went out. Gonna fix it this weekend...

not really a sound guy by any means but is the larger speaker worth the extra hassle?

Im sure I can make it fit, but if its all the same ill jsut pop in a 4in speaker and acall it a day.

They are better and cheaper as well i've found. I bought these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and they sound great. Got a 4-5.25 adapter off ebay to make them fit, works well.

How my original front speakers looked btw. Absolutely destroyed.

I bought these adapters to easily replace my blown speakers and they worked great for me

I ended up getting these inexpensive 5.25" speakers but after listening to the garbled speakers for a couple years they sounded great.

These adapters allowed you to mount 5.25" speakers into the 4" space? I just wanted to confirm.

Are the rear door speakers also 4 inches?

Yes - On one side the have 3 weird angled screw holes to match the car and on the other 4 flat screw holes to attach a 5.25" speaker. Otherwise you figure out a different way to attach the speaker.

czum, to clear it up, rick is talking about the fronts and adapters. Being that your car is a 99 and likely Bose since you even have rear door speakers (non-Bose cars don't have rear door speakers), I think yours are going to be 6.5". The earlier cars have 3.5", IIRC. You may should just pull the door card and check for yourself. Only takes a few minutes to pull it off.
