Has anyone gone from AWE Touring with stock DPs to non-resonated DPs?

Ive had my AWE touring exhaust with stock DPs on for a while and always thought i wanted it to be a little bit louder. Now that i have my non-resonated DPs and waiting for install i'm second guessing it a bit. Has anyone made that switch and regretted it?

I know its completely subjective, just wondering what others think. Thanks

-AWE Touring with non-res DP (just had to hear it) - LOUDDDDD. Didn't seem to drone though from my 1 day commuting to work with it. But too loud me.
He is ditching the setup though...

I didn't like it. But I am in a slim minority that doesn't ADORE the AWE sound in general. I just had to try it with non res before selling to try something else to satisfy my curiosity. I know a lot of folks LOVE it and say it's not too loud. 10 years ago I'd have totally rocked it. Getting old(ish) at 33 with 3 kids and a daily 30min commute mostly highway.

If this car was my weekend car I would've probably kept my original AWE Track exhaust with stock DP I started with or The touring and non res possibly.

2nd this - had my stock downs for awhile and after throwing the non-res downpipes on it comes to life even more. I have DSG and the "farts" have turned to barks and the downshifts are fantastic!

If you want you can DM me, I have a few before/after clips during install.

I also managed to take a few videos of the setup during the day I had it installed. I have in car sounds and then I made my colleague drive it while I listened from the outside :)

Is it more raspy with the AWE DP? stock DP with AWE is smooooth.

Slightly. But I thought the Touring on Stock DP had a slight high RPM rasp to it paired with the exotic note. I would say it takes the smooth touring noise and makes it more aggressive and raw. didn't sound bad and if I loved the AWE touring and wanted more volume, I would totally get the non- res pipes. Happy to text you some videos if you'd like to hear. If you like them, I'm in NY and selling my Non-Res pipes that are essentially brand new, which I'm sure you mayve seen lol.

Totally agree with you here - definitely more raw and the higher RPMs truly speak to that.

Sully how do you like the OEs with your AGs? Have 19x9.5 FF01s and I'm considering doing the same next spring - did you notice any difference given the stretch on the 255 tire? Was also considering going to a 265 PSS...

Not to change the thread subject, but love it. Really need some sort of drop to run this aggressive of a wheel otherwise it looks funny. No rubbing whatsoever. Stretch doesn't look ba at all and I hate the stretched look. I wonder about 265 as well. Maybe rub.

Went from touring with res to touring with non res. Non res definitely added more rasp and honestly I love the sound

I am currently running that setup and like it. To me, it's only louder in the lower rpm range and is really gnarly in the 2-3K range. Top end seems to be same sound/volume. If you want more low/mid range growl, go non-res.

I went from a month of just the awe touring with stock dp, then went to the awe non-res dp and love it. It's much louder than with stock dp. I drive about 2 hours a day in traffic for work and there is minimal drone imo. I did come from a BMW 335 with catless dp and an eisenmann race exhaust though, so I'm use to loud. Still not as Loud as my buddy with the full non-res dp and awe track.
