    Loud Pop & Then Loud Exhaust Need Help

    Where do I start? Looked underneath without jacking it up and see nothing, maybe the pipe popped off but didn't drop down. Of course it's the first day that it snowed here and there was a cold rain too. Could it be a DV??

    The DV wouldn't make your exhaust loud like a open pipe would. Is it super loud? Or just a bit louder? You probably broke something off on your exhaust. Only way to know is to look but I would bet on the flex pipe like vce said. Unless someone messed with your exhaust I doubt you blew out your mufflers :D

    The coupler that connects the muffler tubing to the downpipe? That coupler rusted on me and eventually the pipes fell out and were hanging on by the rubber hangers.

    It's very loud, I don't see anything hanging but I didn't jack it up yet. Still looking for a large EVAP leak (0455) I wonder if it's connected to that somehow. Will look at the flex pipe and underside tomorrow. Thanks

    With a partially blown flex pipe coupler you will not it hang down per say. The rubber hangers pretty much keeps the pipe in place.

    Separated where the front pipe clamps to the rear pipe, it's a wide double clamp, looks fairly easy to fix if I can pull the rear part forward a little. The rear section is banging against something too, need to see if a hanger broke or it's just from the front being disconnected.

    FWIW I replaced mine with what seemed like a good quality oem type clamp but I just couldn't get it to not leak, so I went to an auto parts store and picked up a straight piece of exhaust pipe, I think it's 2 1/4 ID, and use traditional exhaust pipe clamps. Works great. And was only 10 bucks total.
    2007 A4 2.0T AWD....100% stock!
