Audi aftermarket Fidelity Warranty Prices in PNW

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey everyone,

I just purchased this Audi S6 yesterday. http://http://www.chicagomotorcarslv...nv-id-15428106

I'm very excited to take delivery. The dealer is doing ceramic tint and powder coat black the wheels before I pick it up.

I have had great luck with aftermarket warranties (paid $3,500 for a 100k warranty on a modded Sti got $11k in repairs) and I would like to get one for my S6. After reading on here I decided that getting an Audi Fidelity warranty is the way to go. I called around to a couple of dealerships and got some prices. This is on the platinum plus premium warranty for 75k miles covering me to 100k total miles. Below is the exact quote I got.

    From Audi of Bellevue
I've gone ahead and found some options for your in regards to the extended service contract you requested information on. You said your car is a 2013 S6 and has 25,500 miles on it, you just purchased it yesterday from a Vegas dealer. First and foremost, congrats on that purchase!

Here are the quotes I was able to get for you:

6 years/72,000 miles [So, this would be six years from now or 72,000 miles (So, 97,500 miles) whichever comes first]. That was the highest coverage I was able to get. This is our Platinum coverage which is our comprehensive coverage, basically an extension of your factory warranty, covering the same as your factory warranty would cover. With a $100 deductible (Should you need to bring it into service) this service would cost: 6649.00 (plus tax). We can offer you that same coverage with a $250 deductible, for $5589.00 plus tax.

    Audi of Seattle
I have attached the Audi Pure Protection brochure to this email.
The Platinum plan is the best plan offered. It covers everything listed in powertrain, silver, gold, and gold plus and more.
The platinum plan lists the items that are not covered.

Based on 26500 miles and todays date, the platinum plan with a $100.00 deductible.
4 years or 60000 miles $5481.00 plus tax
5 years or 75000 miles $6816.00 plus tax

The platinum plan with a $250.00 deductible
4 years or 60000 miles $4877.00 plus tax
5 years or 75000 miles $5930.00 plus tax

These were both cheaper than carchex and endurance.

I'm still waiting on details from a couple other dealers. Has anyone got a better deal than this? I will update this as I get more quotes. I'm thinking if we can direct all of the aftermarket warranty to one dealership we can drive the price down.

    Great info on here guys!

Why would one do this as opposed to buying a CPO vehicle?

I couldn't find one that wasn't a sacrifice in options or price. This was the cleanest car I could find at this price point.

I drive 25k miles a year as an outside sales rep and I am not gentle with my cars. So I am very interested in warranty coverage.

That's a lot of dough for a warranty. I've had the Fidelity Platinum on my previous gen S6 with the V10 motor and it is a great warranty. Having said that, I would certainly not buy it again for the 3.0T. And even for the 4.0T, i would consider putting that cash in reserves in case you need it with the likely chance that you won't. If it were like $3-4K, then that might be worth the peace of mind.
It appears that you may have some factory warranty left...i suggest you drive it around a bit and then take it to your trusted Audi dealer to flush out any potential issues, updates, and repairs needed - all under warranty.

Great advice thanks! I'm less worried about mechanical things like engine and transmission. I'm more worried about the little things that add up. Gauge cluster get a burned out bulb, B and O doesn't lift out of the dash, seats don't message anymore. Stuff like that. How is everyone's accessories holding up?

Looks like Troy is the guy.

Below is what he sent. Very prompt and professional. Any other suggestions out there?

I can only sell the Audi branded plans online on vehicles that have at least 1 yr / 10K left on
the original factory warranty, so these would be for the regular Fidelity plans without the Audi
name & logo on them. And the vehicle has to be within the original 4 year factory warranty to
    be eligible.

    Vehicle: 2013 Audi S6 with 25,001 - 35,000 miles.
    Fidelity Platinum w/ $250 deductible
    2 yr / 24K - $1691.00
    3 yr / 36K - $2413.00
    4 yr / 48K - $3275.00
    5 yr / 60K - $3863.00
    6 yr / 72K - $4683.00
    Gold Plus Coverage:
    2 yr / 24K - $1498.00
    3 yr / 36K - $1960.00
    4 yr / 48K - $2477.00
    5 yr / 60K - $2875.00
    6 yr / 72K - $3451.00
    Gold Coverage:
    2 yr / 24K - $1215.00
    3 yr / 36K - $1491.00
    4 yr / 48K - $1843.00
    5 yr / 60K - $2146.00
    6 yr / 72K - $2492.00
Time and mileage are from the current date and miles, so a 5 yr / 60K plan
would cover you until 86,000 total miles.

Here is the basic purchase info if / when you decide to purchase.

Man, thats a lot of dough for a warranty. I would say if you bought a used BMW 7 series then yes its a no brainer but it seems these cars are pretty dang reliable. Just take a look at all the different threads on this forum and you want find many threads where people have some major issues. But I know you probably want some piece of mind it just seems that it most likely will not pay off. Best of luck and congrats on the new car.

Dumb question but does the car have to be either new or CPO for these warranties? I bought a 16 RS7 last Aug so I have ~2yrs left on factory warranty. Looking to get an extended warranty as I plan to keep the car for quite a while (5+ yrs). Thoughts?

From my previous conversation with Troy @ FD-Warranty, he indicated that the car had to be within the original 4 yr / 50K original factory warranty (CPO extension is irrelevant) for him to sell a policy as well as under 35k miles at the time. I'm not sure if that applies to all warranties, but that's the information I received when I inquired with my previous car.

I bought mine from the dealer when I bought the car new, paid $4840 I think for a 10 yr/120K warranty from Audi branded extended warranty, with Safeguard. I'm now tuned so don't know how they will support it when the time comes, in hindsight I should have held on to my money like some have suggested as I went with tuning, and banked it instead.

Most dealers won’t care if you’re tuned when dealing with post-factory warranties. However, you could always just go to your local euro shop as well, that’s the beauty of post-factory warranty coverage. You have choices. :)

Really? Hmm that's something I did not know, I thought Audi Pure Protection (as it's called) was only good for repair thru Audi Dealerships. I'll have to read my contract in detail on this. thanks!

“Nationwide service available at all participating Audi Dealers or other authorized service provider.”

Basically any place that is ASE certified.

I think they can offer coverage up until the expiration of the factory 4yr/50K but if it’s purchased prior to 35K, the price is significantly better. I purchased coverage on my 2013 S4 back on NYE 2016 right before 35K at Troy’s recommendation because the price would jump if I surpassed the 35K mark. My in service date was 4/5/13 so I had redundant warranty for a little better than 3 months but the price difference (don’t recall the exact amount) definitely made sense. I just bought a new S6 which may have been delivered to my dealer today (extremely insane cold here so I should know for sure tomorrow). My S4 warranty will be prorated/refunded based on cancellation date. It has honestly been the most reliable car I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned something like 24 vehicles), never had to use the warranty but slept well at night with the piece of mind. Three years and 36K of Audi Pure Platinum coverage costed me $2709 which comes out to $903/year. While some may think that’s quite a bit, it’s still a fraction of what depreciation on getting into a new(er) car would be. These cars take the hardest hit in the first 2-3 years so exiting at that point has an owner taking the hardest hit, dropping $2700 on a 3 year warranty that basically offers new car coverage is cheap insurance.
