Question Where does this bolt go?

I found this bolt on the road right where I park my car every day. No oil or fluids on the road. I checked rear diff and the plug is in there. Any ideas what this could go to?

Have you ever replaced your oil drain plug? That's what comes to mind from your pictures.

It certainly looks like a drain/fill plug that is used on the rear and the fill on the front differential. Perhaps not from your car.

Okay so i have yet to check the fill plug for the rear diff, just the drain plug on the rear side. Is this located on the differential side facing the front of the car?

It's on the drivers side, about in the middle of the housing.

Looks like the bolt holding the heat shield above the turbo. It is one of three and the only one with a large flat head. Look above the turbo to cat connection and under the heat shield. Should see a missing bolt.

wow good call! Just checked. This is what I found. not sure if it was the same area you mentioned. Bolt still looks a bit big to fit but I'm obviously missing a bolt there. FYI I also had a new create engine put in at the dealer after the oil consumption repair failed. so idk if its a newer motor that would have blank thread for newer adaptations or if the bolt just slowly jiggled out of that spot over 10k miles. After it cools ill see it she fits. you guys think this is where it belongs?

No, that's not it. Mine is also empty at that hole. The screw referred to on the heat shield is up underneath the shield and is hard to see without a mirror. Based on your pic, it also seems to be smaller than the one you found.
