    Some help with brake upgrade?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi I'm looking into upgrading to q7 brakes on my b6 a4
I was wondering what calipers could work with my front and rear of my car.

I might have a deal 100 bucks for part# 207673048 off of a q7. 100$ for both rear brakes but not to sure if they will fit on the rear of my car. I know I will need different rotars I was going to use the s5 brakes I have with some s4 rotars I bought. Times change tho I would like to do the 4 piston or 6 whatever I can get for my a4

If anyone that has done this upgrade or has good knowledge of it could point me in the right direction, would be appreciated.

I will probibly pick up the rears that I mention earlier for that price can't argue too much.

    Anyone done this?
    -Josh

You looking to swap Q7 rear calipers onto the rear of your A4? Or are you looking for help for the front axle? The Q7 front calipers are reffered to as 17/8Z calipers.

Thanks for the link. I looked though it but maybe I missed it but is there any info for the rears? Do they fit the front as well?
I'm looking at getting some rear q7 Callipers but don't know if they will fit my rear knuckle or work with an e brake for that matter, or use in the front?

The front seams pretty simple just make sure it's sized right.

Ok so I opted away from the rear Touareg brakes and am looking at some 17z 6 pot front calipers now I'm just thinking what I could do for rotors I see lots of threads with people toughing lots of different rotors out there that require slight modification.
I don't mind drilling but don't know what should be ran with these.
I have some new s4 Zimmerman rotors but I don't think these will work.

I did see that and from that thread he talks about using c230 sport rotors with the 17z's with opening up the center bore if I remember correctly. I'm still searching if that's my only option I thought I saw someone mention something else that was a thicker rotor then the c230 earlier but I was in the car and lost the page I was on.

Edit: found this link with little more specs on rotors

skip the c230 rotors and use the volvo rotors instead. c230 rotors are too thin. they work ( i run them currently) but pedal feel isnt great with them and they are loud rotors. i plan on changing to the volvo rotors in the spring.

Thanks and I think that is what I plan on running the 17z are supposed to have 32mm thick rotors and wear limit to 30mm

Ok so I think I'm pretty set on the front, got the 17z calipers. Just need to get rotors and lines.
But I'm looking at geting something little beefier in the rear. Dose anyone know if there's any options I can look for besides the s4 rears?
I have some s5 rear Callipers and rotors don't know if I could use the rotors? I know the calipers would not let me use the e brake.
