Interestingly enough, not to drag this back up.
I had my hose replaced about 6 months ago under Audi Certified Warranty.
It was fine up until about 1 month ago. Started doing it again,
Took it in, they said not a safety issue and they couldn't duplicate.
I took it back 2 days later and had a discussion, they agreed to look again.
here is the response:
The A4 inspection is now complete. My shop foreman did all of the re-inspect work and rechecking. I was in the vehicle this morning for the cold start recheck when the vehicle was started up and driven. I have attached a copy of the repair order with all of the notes and findings. I was also in the two vehicles that were used for like comparison testing. The feeling you are concerned about is quite normal for this model and can be duplicated rather easily on like Audi vehicles. The information I received from Audi was good, however the boot seal is not at fault on this vehicle and does not need replacement.
I do want to assure you that the vehicle steering operation is safe and is not showing any signs of component failure.
I did have the vehicle washed up just now and I will be handing over the repair order to Robert Spah for completion.
If you would like, I will gladly take you in a similar vehicle to compare when you come in to pick up your vehicle. There were three here yesterday – I will check the lot today. Usually have one or two on the lot.
Sincerely,
I call bulls**t on this deal.
