Audi S6/S7 air suspension vs Audi RS7/RS7 air suspension

Does the Rs6/7 have stiffer air suspension than S6/7? Has anybody compared them back to back on the track? I just hate how my S7 squats all the time, it feels too soft, I never had this problem with my a7 with coilovers installed.

Is there any mod or handling upgrade for the air suspension? To make it handle bit better around corner.

There are not many methods of "tuning" air suspension but at the least you can control the height and lower the center of gravity with a module:

    Controller Package | Air Suspension

Allows you to customize the three height settings, set a show mode when parked and level the car if needed. If you want to flatten the ride more then you'd likely be looking at upgraded sway bars as really the only method to do that.

If you have any questions on the controller don't hesitate to let me know via PM or email: [email protected]

    Cheers,
Thanks for the info, how reliable are those air suspension? If they do leak or break, can I change it with steel spring coil instead? Hope they do last over 100 k without much issues, is there like sway bar upgrade for the s6 s7 series?

If you're looking to improve the cornering capabilities, you should look at upgrading the sway bars and chassis stiffener - I went the Eurocode route on both and the results were amazing.

hi does it reduce body row ? and what size tyre you running? mine is standard 255/40/19, is it ok to fit one inch wider like 265/40/19 to improve handling

Yes, Cete module + Eurocode sways reduce the body roll and also some good hard compound Pirelli tires help also.

Yes, you can easily fit wider tires, Limeypride above has 295 tires. Also, the 265/40/19 size is pretty much the exact size as the 265/35/20 (what I have) tires from the factory 20" option.

    A6 (S6) and A7 (S7) figments are a little different.

I would not propose anyone try running a 295 tyre on an A6 - it's too wide and bound to result in some rubbing.

You're right, I thought the OP was asking the tire size question, since he has an S7.

What are A6/A7/S6/S7 figments and how do they influence wheel fitment?

Can the factory 8.5 rim fit 265 tyres no problem? Or I need upgrade to 9.5 wide rims

My factory 20” setup is also on 265/35. Should be no problem.

Air suspension can leak at anytime. Some owners have had issues and have been replaced under warranty. Out of warranty then these units are not cheap. Your always going to get a much better better handling package with decent coilovers and sway bars but the coolness factor of having the suspension go up and down at the touch of a button is 2nd to none

Someone had posted that the RS6/7 and S6/7 suspension part numbers differed, but maybe the post was deleted.

Either way this is something I'd never bothered to check as I have yet to run into a C7 customer looking to replace any air suspension components. With that being said I find that indeed there are different part numbers for the RS and S front complete air strut assemblies, but interestingly enough the airbag in the rear is the same for all C7 but the damper is RS specific.

So likely what we see is that the RS has sport/performance oriented dampers with the front airbags, it's a whole airbag over damper assembly that is purchased as a whole unit. The rear however just has sport/performance dampers separately since the airbag is separate of the damper.

Just to give an idea on pricing:

RS Front Air Strut (w/ damper) - $2340.00 pair
RS Rear Dampers - $1594.00 pair

In the event that anyone does have issues with their factory S air suspension and you are out of warranty it might be worth a thought on the RS components if you are looking for an upgrade.

If anyone has questions or needs on this don't hesitate to PM or email: [email protected]
