    '17 adaptive air thoughts?

Can anyone that's already taken delivery comment on the adaptive air package on the '17 q7? Did you get a chance to drive the standard suspension to compare? Does 4 wheel steering make a drastic difference to slow speed maneuvering and high speed handling?

Is the dynamic setting lower than the standard suspension height or does it just raise above that for "off-road" use?

I'm having a hard time finding a proper explanation on the details of the system.

I took delivery on a Q7 tofana white with adaptive suspension and luxury package about a month ago. I test drove a premium plus and ordered a prestige.

The handling and maneuverability in closed spaces is unbelievable. Handles as a small car such as the Q5

The dynamic setting lowers the vehicle, but I cannot compare to my very short test drive on ordering. My Q is lower than the ones without the air suspension.

I would agree with the previous poster. I have been using my Q7 since the third week of January and absolutely love both the suspension and turning options. I cannot imagine the vehicle without them. I was able to test drive both options prior to buying and the choice was obvious in back to back testing. You are going to love it!

Get the air suspension and 4 wheel steering. You'll be happy. You can really feel the difference. On full dynamic mode you'd be surprised at how such a big truck handles. After the initial body roll it sets and just grips. On comfort mode it rides really nice.

Yeah, handles great, but the steel suspension does too. My S6 had two, TWO, air-springs go out under 20k miles. That was over $4k under warranty costs. If you're a gambling person, and going to own an air-suspension Audi outside of warranty, imho, it's a losing bet. I gave up the air for steel for long-term reliability peace-of-mind. Now give me adjustable dampers with steel springs and I'd be all over that.

I'm no gambling person. I never keep anything german and expensive outside of warranty. That goes for anything Italian as well.

Then enjoy that air :) and I do agree, the four-wheel steering is impressive.

For me, the adaptive suspension's ride is definitely an improvement over the standard suspension where I drive. This is the key. Many potential buyers go out to their dealer and drive one Q7 with the adaptive suspension and one with standard suspension back to back for a few spins around the dealership streets and then wonder...hmm $4k? Prob not needed and pass. I was fortunate to spend time in both types of suspensions (had loaners for a few days) in my actual neighborhood, driving all the roads I use daily. This is where the difference really shows (real driving time and familiar streets). Additionally, the 4 wheel steering is excellent both in handling and turning radius. Have not seen a single post on any Audi forums of people regretting getting it, only people regretting not getting it. All this said, both suspensions drive excellent overall and the Q7 kills the competition in driving, handling and comfort.
